The Call — figurative sculpture "Bull"

The Call is a sculpture of a bull at the moment it raises its head — muzzle lifted, neck taut, body gathered in a strong, planted stance. This is the instant just before the roar, caught at full tension. The silhouette is worked concisely and synthetically: the massive neck, broad chest and powerful legs convey the animal's weight without unnecessary literalism. The most remarkable element is the horns — exceptionally long, swept into a double curve and finished with flared tips, so they rise above the silhouette like a crown and lend the whole piece an almost mythological character. The surface is densely modelled, with visible tool marks and fine incising that suggests the coat, covered in a warm patina in tones of sandy brown and muted olive.

The sculpture is entirely handmade — modelled, cast and hand-patinated by the artist, so the texture, the marks of the modelling and the transitions of the patina are unique to every piece. The bull has symbolised strength, fertility and endurance for centuries. The work suits a living room, study, library, hallway or executive office. Care: wipe with a soft dry cloth.
