Steel Mustang — industrial-style metal sculpture
Steel Mustang is a monumental sculpture of a rearing horse — forelegs lifted, neck arched, mane thrown back. The entire silhouette is built from hundreds of metal components: gears, chains, springs, nuts, sleeves and plates, welded one by one into an openwork, see-through structure. As a result the horse's body is not a solid mass but a lattice that light and the background pass through — while each detail stays legible up close as an individual object living a second life. The mane and tail, formed from long flexible rods, emphasise the movement, and the dark, raw steel with its natural highlights gives the work its industrial character. The sculpture is mounted on a black lacquered plate.
The work is entirely handmade — every component selected, bent and welded individually by the artist, so the arrangement of the parts and the pattern of the openings are unique to every piece. This is a sculpture for large, expressive spaces: a loft, a high-ceilinged living room, an entrance hall, hotel lobby, showroom or executive office, where it instantly becomes the focal point of the interior. Care: dust gently with a soft brush or a dry cloth.
