Spilled Red — hyperrealistic sculpture "Paint Can"
Spilled Red is a sculpture that, for a second, looks like a real object left behind on a countertop. A dented, battered paint can stands in a pool of intense red that spreads across the surface in a soft, glossy splash. Frozen drips and hanging drops run down its sides, and a brush juts out from inside — wooden handle, metal ferrule, red grip — exactly as you'd leave it mid-job. The matte, scuffed white of the can set against the mirror-bright gloss of the paint creates a strong contrast of textures and keeps the eye hesitating between "object" and "sculpture." This is a piece in the pop-art spirit — witty, but executed with complete precision.
The sculpture is entirely handmade — shaped, hand-painted and finished layer by layer, so the run of the drips, the shape of the pool and the scatter of the splashes are unique to every piece. It suits a studio, study, living room, gallery space or creative agency office — on a console, desk, sideboard or plinth. It also makes an excellent gift for an artist, architect or designer. Care: wipe with a soft dry cloth.
