The Keeper — abstract sculpture on a stone base

Solar Core is a relief panel built around the motif of radiating rays. A dense arrangement of incised lines spreads out from the centre of the composition, passing from a dark, deep black disc onto the pale, whitewashed field of the background — the further from the middle, the wider and calmer the rays become. At the very heart sits a polished golden hemisphere: the only gleaming point in the whole piece, drawing the eye instantly and reflecting the light of the room. Contrast is the governing principle here — the rough, bleached texture of the background with its visible grain set against the matte black of the disc and the mirror-bright gold. The panel rests on a narrow, discreet base, so it can stand freely on any flat surface.

The sculpture is entirely handmade — incised, whitewashed and hand-finished, so the run of the rays, the depth of the cuts and the natural pattern of the texture remain unique to each piece. It suits boho, ethnic, japandi and natural interiors — a living room, bedroom, hallway, study or mantelpiece. It pairs beautifully with linen, ceramics and raw wood.
