Three Reeds — slender abstract sculpture

Three Reeds is an exceptionally spare vertical composition — three thin rods of differing heights rising from a single rectangular plate and finished with flattened, leaf-like heads. The form is reduced to an absolute minimum: what matters is the rhythm of the lines, the difference in proportion and the tension of the empty space between the stems. Fine horizontal grooving covers the middle sections of the shafts, contrasting with the smooth, polished stretches below — so light slides across the surface unevenly, bringing the whole silhouette to life. A dark, almost black patina with warm brown wear gives the piece a refined austerity.

The sculpture casts a delicate drawing of shadows onto the wall, which becomes its natural extension. The work is entirely handmade — forged, shaped, incised and hand-patinated, so the curve of the rods, the density of the grooving and the tone of the patina are unique to every piece. Ideal for minimalist, japandi and natural interiors: a living room, study, hallway, bedroom or gallery space. It pairs beautifully with raw wood, concrete, linen and stone, and shows best against a plain, light background. Care: wipe with a soft dry cloth.
