Pair on the Shore — figurative sculpture "Wading Birds"

Pair on the Shore is an intimate sculpture of two wading birds standing side by side on an uneven, naturally shaped plate. Their postures differ and complement one another perfectly: one bird lifts its head and looks ahead, the other lowers its beak towards the ground as if searching for something in the sand. This pairing gives the composition lightness and the feeling of a moment caught in passing. The silhouettes are worked softly and synthetically — full, streamlined bodies set against very fine, precisely modelled legs and long, slender beaks. The surface carries a lively patina running from deep green to warm brown and olive, with small mottled marks that recall natural plumage.

The sculpture is entirely handmade — modelled, cast and hand-patinated by the artist, so the texture and the run of the patina colours are unique to every piece. It suits natural, classical and coastal interiors: a living room, study, library, windowsill or mantelpiece. It also makes a thoughtful gift for a lover of nature and birds — and, through its motif of a pair, a well-judged present for an anniversary. Care: wipe with a soft dry cloth, no chemical cleaners.
