Little Golden Tree — small decorative sculpture

Little Golden Tree is a small but strikingly characterful sculpture in the form of a slender, conical tree. The crown is built from several dozen round, domed elements of varying size, set densely one beside another — like fruit, coins or buds crowding the branches. Each disc is covered in gold leaf, laid unevenly and with wear, so the dark, warm base shows through from beneath the gold. The effect is rich and refined at once: the surface glimmers with every shift of the light while carrying a patina of age, as though the piece came from an old collection. The smooth, tapering trunk and solid round base balance the decorative abundance of the crown.

The sculpture is entirely handmade — every element shaped and attached individually, and the gold applied by hand leaf by leaf, so the arrangement of the discs and the distribution of the wear are unique to each piece. It works beautifully on a sideboard, console, desk, bookshelf or mantelpiece — in a living room, study, bedroom or hallway. The tree has symbolised growth and abundance for centuries, making this a well-judged gift for a housewarming, jubilee or Christmas. Care: dust gently with a soft brush.
