Lightness of Being — figurative sculpture with five figures
Lightness of Being is a poetic composition of five small gilded figures suspended on thin black rods of varying height. Each figure is caught in a different gesture: one rises with arms outstretched, another seems to glide, a third sits calmly with legs dangling in the air. The silhouettes are deliberately simplified — without facial features or detail, reduced to movement alone, so everyone reads their own story into them. The slender rods almost disappear into the space, making the figures look as though they float unsupported. The warm, unevenly laid gold contrasts with the matte black of the rectangular base and catches the light from every direction.
The sculpture is entirely handmade — each figure modelled and hand-gilded separately, so the poses, the surface texture and the distribution of the gold are unique to every piece. It is a work about freedom, dreams and rising above the everyday — ideal for a living room, study, bedroom, hallway or office space. It shows best against a plain, light background. Care: dust gently with a soft brush.
