Fragments of Light — abstract sculpture on a plinth

Fragments of Light is an abstract form built from dozens of irregular metal plates joined into a slender mass that rises upward. Open gaps are left between the elements, so the sculpture is not a closed block but an openwork structure that lets light and the room behind it pass through. The surface carries a warm bronze patina shifting from deep dark green to bright, almost golden highlights along the polished edges. Set on a solid geometric plinth, the composition finds its balance: the austere rectangular base underlines the organic, living quality of the form above it.

The sculpture is entirely handmade — each fragment shaped, joined and patinated individually by the artist, which is why the arrangement of the plates, the pattern of the openings and the tone of the patina are unique to every piece. It suits interiors with character: an open-plan living room, a study, an entrance hall, a gallery space or a representative office. It shows best where side light can reach it, bringing out the texture and casting a drawing of shadows onto the wall. Care: wipe with a soft dry cloth.
