Forest Stillness — sculptural bust "Doe"
Forest Stillness is a bust of a young doe caught in a moment of taut attention — head lifted, ears spread wide, gaze fixed straight ahead. This is the instant when the animal has heard something in the distance and frozen. The modelling is soft and delicate: the gentle line of the muzzle, the subtly marked eyelids and the natural drawing of the neck create a sense of living presence without ever tipping into literalism. The lower edge of the bust is deliberately left raw and torn, as if the form were emerging from the material. The surface carries a warm, earthy patina in tones of sandy beige, ochre and muted green, set on a simple rectangular plinth in a cool sage tone.
The sculpture is entirely handmade — modelled, finished and hand-patinated by the artist, so the texture and the transitions of the patina colours are unique to every piece. It suits natural, rustic and classical interiors: a living room, study, library, country house or guesthouse — on a sideboard, console, shelf or mantelpiece. A thoughtful gift for a lover of nature and animals. Care: wipe with a soft dry cloth, no chemical cleaners.
