The body is built from several overlapping oval planes that narrow and widen in a rhythm recalling a female silhouette: a broad, shield-like torso, a narrow waist and a small, lifted head. In two places the form is pierced right through with round openings that let light and the background pass — and it is these that give the composition lightness despite its compactness. The surface is deliberately varied: smooth, polished fields sit alongside areas densely incised with radiating and net-like patterns. The whole rests on a block of natural stone with a soft, cloud-like marking in tones of cream, pink and grey-green. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe sculpture is entirely handmade — modelled, cast, hand-incised and polished, with the base stone selected individually, so the pattern of the incisions, the tone of the surface and the markings of the stone are unique to every piece. It belongs in interiors with a mature character: a study, living room, library, art collection or executive office.
